GENERAL CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Stained Glass 1+
Stained Glass 1+ is a good class for those with limited stained glass experience, those with copper-foil experience who are interested in working with lead; or even no stained glass experience at all. Students will learn to design and build their own stained glass windows, using traditional lead technique, over an extended course session of six weeks. And, working in a group of people with a mix of experience, students will be able to learn even more by receiving “cross-training,” and “re-training” in better practices. By the end of the class, students should understand every step of the architectural stained glass process. “Architectural” stained glass windows are not only meant as decoration, but are built for specific spaces, and specifically to fill holes in a wall or door - and are meant to be weather-bearing. The class fee does not include materials or tools, which must be brought to or purchased prior to the first class session. Please constrain your project size to no more than 20 pieces of glass. Design discussion is an early - and crucial - part of this class.
